Online Case Reports and Discussion Forum
Spine is please to povide its users with two new web site features, Online Case Reports and an associated Discussion Forum (coming in April 2001).
Online Case Reports
The Online Caes Report section highligits cases printed in Spine of special interest. The selected cases have been enhanced to include dedicated expert commentary that is not included in print jouranl. Cases are posted on the web site in a cumstomized case report format. In addition to full-text, the cases also include all associated color and/or black-and-white images. Cases are accessible via the Case Reports navigation button located on the left-side of this web site.
Cases are broken out into different topics that can be viewed in two different formats - divided individually tabbed sections and combined into one continuous document (for ease of printing). The posting of new case reports will coincide with the posting of new abstract content. Past cases are indexed in a continually expanding archive and can be viewed at any time.
Discussion Forum
Different topics and issues raised in the various cases and the supplementary expert commontary will be subject to discussion in a dedicated Discussion Forum staring in April 2001. The Moderator may choose to open up a discussion focused on one or more aspects of a current case report, but registered forum participants may also submit topics and comments for consideration as well. Direct links to the discussion are provided at the top of each case report in the form of a button that reads "Discuss this Case".
All forums are monitored by a dedicated Moderator responsible for the reviewing and posting all relevant new content messages. Topics will be open to discussion for a specific period of time, as determined by the each moderator. Once a particular discussion topic is closed, visitors may continue to view discussion threads and correspond with different forum participants via email.
All new forum participants are asked to complete a short, one-time, registration. Registration for each forum can be completed at the entry screen of each of the three forums. This information will not be used or sold to any list services or outside corporation, but is necessary in the event that participants need to be contacted by the Moderator concerning a posting.
Forums content is fully searchable using a keyword search accessible by selecting the "Search Forums" link provided at the top of the various forum pages.
